The origin story of the ABRI association
Founder Monika Bodmer grew up in a childhood marked by violence, abuse, and neglect. Animals helped her survive and find solace. Inspired by her own experiences, she founded the ABRI association in 2010. Today, the association creates moments of security, offers glimmers of hope, and invites people to simply be.

Monika Bodmer
With over 25 years of experience in dog training, I have turned my passion into my profession. My dogs have not only been loyal companions, but above all, my greatest teachers.
My philosophy is based on a deep, trusting relationship between humans and dogs. I don't rely on rigid theories, but on an individual and harmonious bond that helps each dog to thrive, while handlers learn to lead with confidence, clear direction, and loving consistency.
My own life story has taught me how deep the bond between humans and dogs can be. These experiences inform my work today – both in training family and sporting dogs and in my therapeutic work with the ABRI association.
Together with my pack, I accompany people and their dogs on a path characterized by trust, respect and unconditional devotion.
Lectures & Presentations
Monika Bodmer addresses taboo topics openly – sexual abuse and femicide must not be silenced. She combines life experience with expertise, reflects on her own behavior, shows ways to break family patterns, and encourages further reflection. With honesty, hope, and motivation, she touches her audience, invites them to look instead of looking away, and answers every question openly. She is available for presentations, panel discussions, interviews, and lectures.
